As I remember............

 

A series of monochrome images for the " Good Food Guide to Penang."

 

 

Capturing its freshness is the essence of photographing raw seafood. Chef Mok and his team at Cititel made the task easier with his excellent selection of seafood and vegetables.

 

 

 

 

Excellent combination of creative food presentation and background props made the food come "alive"..For the Gulai House, The Andaman Langkawi

 

I had to lie flat on a scaffolding erected over the buffet counter for a direct overview shot of the buffet spread.This photo was used as one of a series of images for the relaunching ads of Shangri-la's renovated Coffee Garden.

 

 

It took 7 days and 7 nights to re-enact the Esplanade scene in the Shangri-la hotel ballroom but I only had 7 minutes to capture it on film.

 

With a large crowd of curious onlookers in the mid-morning Prangin Road wholesale market, the Chef and the photographer was under pressure to get the shot right.

 

Only a close-up angle will bring up the sponginess of this layer cake and the tedious effort that goes into its preparation by the pastry chef of Paradise Sandy Bay Hotel.

 

It was my first "open heart" photography. Shot live at the Island Hospital.

 

A new perspective of steel bars at Kamen Steel plant for corporate brochure

 

Electrical sparks from soldering of steel bars at Kamen Steel provided the fireworks in contrast to the monochromatic tone of the steel industry.

 

"One for the road".....The Last Supper shot of the Penang State Executive Council just before the 2004 General Election. One of them is a stuntman.....Guess Who?

 

Working together with my friend and Art Director, David Chiang, these shots had been painstakingly setup to be captured on film,the essence and beauty of Penang heritage lifestyle. These images were reproduced on postcards for the Visit Penang Year

A play of depth with a concoction of natural and strobe lights captured the ambience and serenity of the Horizon Lounge, Shangri-la Hotel Penang.
